Political psychology is an interdisciplinary discipline dedicated to understanding politics, politicians, and the political behaviour of political leaders and the masses from a psychological perspective. It studies mental processes that underlie political judgments and decision making. This course strives to answer the perennial question: How well are leaders and citizens alike equipped to handle their democratic responsibilities? In this age of international tension and sweeping political change emphasis is placed on understanding the psychological aspects of national and international political development. Thus the course will also focus on the analysis of the interrelationships between psychological and political processes.
