Biomechanics is the application of the fundamental laws of movement and the principles of mechanical movement to the study and analysis of human physical performance. Concepts such as mass, inertia, centre of gravity, momentum, acceleration, force and levers will be dealt with in the context of human movement analysis. Students will apply these principles in analysing simple movements with a view to correcting faulty techniques in students and athletes.
