Curriculum is central to the purposes of the school and that these purposes will therefore only be achieved when all teachers can make informed curriculum decisions. This course will consequently there will examine a number of fundamental aspects of curriculum decision, with the expectation that this examination will improve classroom practice and provide an informed base for explaining what is organized teaching and learning for students and why.
The unit covers core features of curriculum concepts to development and design, and finally the application through implementation of appropriate methodologies evident in Syllabi, and programs. It considers strategies in planning and factors of setting up scope and sequence in Physical Education learning. It is also intended that various curricula in PE will be explored and compared accordingly to appreciate their relevance of programming, and the value it brings to actual teaching and assessment.
