Biology 2 is the second component of the bridging course from grade 11 and 12 biology topics taught in Secondary and national high schools to advance biology to be taught in the university after Foundation Biology One. It covers biochemistry of photosynthesis, the animal physiology by studying nutrition and diet, digestion, nervous and sensory systems, gas exchange, hormones, coordination and sensitivity. It also comprises early microbiologists work in developing theories and vaccines. This course also includes the study of zoology specifically an introduction into animal evolution, body plans, animal systems and emphases on selected animal phyla. It considers the evolutionary relationships among organisms and the diversity of life on earth. Climate change, conservation biology and restoration ecology constitutes the last chapter of this course. Weekly laboratory work or practical based on each chapter forms an integral part of this course.
