
The course investigates the economic complexities of tourism, including travel forecasting, tourism spending and the cost and benefits for the bigger travel suppliers (the micro level) and countries and governments (Macro level). Topics include economic concepts, macro and micro economic environment; economic impacts and contributions of tourism, tourism components and supply, factors affecting international and domestic tourism, tourism demand forecasting, measuring tourism demand, economic analysis of projects, cost benefit and related procedures and tourism carrying capacity, the implications of tourism developments for the community in general.
