Students will study selected texts from English and American literary traditions from 1900 to the present as well as other European literature written in English. Selected classical texts from great writers/dramatists in the literary world pre-1900’s will be used to reinforced themes and issues that will be explored in the course to demonstrate the universality of themes of literature. These works will be studied within their historical and cultural contexts which will provide an enriched range of genres for students to appreciate the skills involved in writing and therefore enhance their appreciation of literature and help them to develop analytical and writing skills.
