Clinical Practicum 2 builds on the theory and skills covered in
Semesters 1 and 2. Students will be placed in clinical areas such as the
obstetrics and gynecology ward, labour ward, and special care nursery to
develop skills in caring for women with complicated pregnancies, labour and
birth, and newborns with health problems. Students will also provide care for
postnatal mothers and their babies. Clinical Practicum 2 and Rural Practicum
assessments will be completed during the eight-week rural placement at rural
health facilities, where students will apply their knowledge and skills in real
clinical settings
