Public Health and Reproduction explores major public health and
reproductive health issues affecting women, families, and communities in Papua
New Guinea. The course covers health promotion, disease prevention, sexual and
reproductive health, family planning, maternal and newborn health, community
health, and factors that influence health outcomes. Students will examine
common public health challenges in PNG and the role of midwives in promoting
health and preventing illness. The course also introduces students to basic
research methods, including identifying health problems, reviewing relevant
literature, developing research questions and objectives, and preparing a
simple research proposal on a relevant public health or reproductive health
issue in PNG.
