This course provides an overview of instrument sensors used in process and automatic control. It is useful to anyone studying measurement systems and instrumentation. Measurement system comprises of sensors, transducers, actuators and signal processing devices. It is essential to learn the principle of working of commonly used sensors/transducers. This unit familiarizes students with transducers, sensors, and actuators and helps them understand the difference between them.
In addition, the students are able to learn and construct combinational logic circuits on Multimedia Logic software and simulate to verify desired outputs as per the characteristic tables of the combinational circuits being used. Also, they learn about the different applications of the different sensors in the industries and can use the right type of sensors to suit different practical applications.
