The main emphasis in this course is on chemical kinetics and reaction dynamics of chemical reactions. The main focus is on how reactants become products with a time dimension This is considered by determining the timescale and the mechanism of the chemical reactions.
Topics proposed to be covered in this course: Review of rates and rate laws (zero, first and second order) mechanisms, numerical approaches/methods, consecutive and parallel reactions, steady state theory, catalysis, complex & chain reactions, polymerization and photochemical reactions.
