Ethnochemistry

Ethno chemistry course encompasses the main focus area on mainly the indigenous knowledge and practices processed by different cultural groups that chemistry can explain. The course will cover the chemistry of traditional practices and application of natural native resources. In this course the concept of verifying knowledge is conducted at three levels, the macroscopic level, the microscopic level and the written representation. The concept on foundation chemistry knowledge as in traditional knowledge is discussed at the macroscopic level while other chemistry theories are first proven at the microscopic level before representing then with names, pictures or symbols. Thus, by combining the macroscopic and the microscopic level of knowledge from different eras, new knowledge skills and discovery in Ethno Chemistry can be made. This study will cover the chemistry most of these naturally occurring resources, native food, native language, Indigenous rights and their traditional appreciation in various areas of application
