This course aims to link students who had done courses in Inorganic Chemistry to applied aspects of the Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry like many other branches of chemistry has played a vital and important especially in the area of generating some products that has greatly benefitted man. This course will enable the students to look at how and what role inorganic chemistry had played and continues to play today.
Some of the topics that are proposed to be covered are: Water treatment, inorganic paints and pigments, minerals, silicates, glass, enamel, ceramics, metals in chemotherapy, inorganic fertilizers, and chemical process involved in extraction of copper, silver and gold, nuclear technology etc.
