Environmental Chemistry is a multi-disciplinary science course which encompasses many vastly different fields such as chemistry, physics, life sciences (biology), agriculture, medical sciences, public health, earth sciences, construction, mining etc. A basic understanding of the fundamental concepts of environmental chemistry is not only essential for all chemists but for non-chemist who will be engaged one way or another in some aspects of environmental science and related fields. It is also envisaged that many students who enroll in the course will become educators on completion of their program. The skills and knowledge gained will serve as a resource base that will be used to teach the younger generation about the different dynamics and aspects of the fragile environment.
