What is the purpose of decentralization? The purpose of decentralization is to transfer decision making authority to multiple levels.

What is political decentralization and what is its aim and why? Political decentralization is the transfer of power, authority and responsibility from central national government to sub national government. The aim for such action is to local citizens and their elected representatives more influences over creation and implementation of policies that affect their specific communities.

Explain the concepts of Unitary and Federal States? In a Unitary state, the central government is the sole source of constitutional authority while in the Federal state it is characterized by formal, constitutional division of powers between the national and various regional government.

Compare the Unitary and Federal Government Systems. The feature 'sovereignty' under unitary, sovereignty resides in the government while in federal it is divided.
